Guangzhou Municipal Government delegation visits Reforgene

On March 2, Meng Hao, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, led a delegation to Guangzhou Reforgene Medicine Co., Ltd. ("Reforgene") for a visit and inspection, conducting on-site research on the enterprise's development status, R&D progress and industrialization advancement. Dr. Liang Junbin, CEO of Reforgene, warmly received the delegation and delivered a work report.

During the research visit, Meng Hao and her delegation went deep into the company's R&D platforms and laboratories to learn in detail about Reforgene's work progress in gene editing technology innovation, drug development for major diseases such as thalassemia, clinical translation and industrialization layout, and carefully listened to the company's achievements and needs in innovative drug R&D, key technology breakthroughs, talent team building and project advancement.

Meng Hao fully affirmed Reforgene's breakthroughs in adhering to original innovation and focusing on developing curative medicines for serious diseases. She said that gene editing and cell therapy are key development directions for Guangzhou's biomedical industry, and that the government will continue to optimize the business environment, strengthen policy support and service guarantees, and help enterprises accelerate the transformation of innovative achievements. She also pointed out that the new policy of the State Council Document No. 818 on the cell industry points out new directions and provides support for the high-quality development of the industry, and that Guangzhou will make good use of policy dividends and optimize regulatory services to promote the standardized, healthy and rapid development of the cell and gene therapy industry.
