Shanghai Zhangjiang Group delegation visits Reforgene

On November 25, 2021, a delegation from Shanghai Zhangjiang Group visited Reforgene. The visit was led by Wang Kairong, Deputy General Manager of Zhangjiang Group, with members including Sun Lu, Deputy Director of the Planning and Finance Department, Dai Yueming, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai International Medical Zone Group Co., Ltd., Zhan Wang, Manager of the Investment Promotion Department, Yang Yuanfang, Deputy General Manager of Zhangjiang Biopharmaceutical Base Development Co., Ltd., and Duan Yanhong of Zhangjiang Sci-Tech Investment Company. The two sides held an in-depth exchange and discussion.

At the discussion, Dr. Liang Junbin of Reforgene warmly welcomed the delegation from Zhangjiang Group and introduced Reforgene's development, sharing enterprise-perspective views on the latest development trends of gene editing medicines. In the exchange, Dr. Liang Junbin gave a specific explanation of Reforgene's core technology competitiveness and CRISPR technology innovation platform, and introduced in detail the company's current leading technology in the industry, as well as the achievements already made in the R&D of beta-thalassemia and other indications.

Deputy General Manager Wang Kairong of Zhangjiang Group said that gene editing technology has developed rapidly in recent years, and Reforgene is a representative innovative enterprise in this field. This technology will bring a brand-new form to global drug development. Zhangjiang Group has high sensitivity to the industrial development of new technologies in the biomedical field and excellent transformation support capabilities. Wang Kairong shared insights and views on the development of China's cell and gene therapy from the industrial and policy levels. Dr. Dai Yueming also specifically explained the historical evolution and construction achievements of Zhangjiang Group and its subordinate business modules: in recent years, Zhangjiang Group has ranked among the top in the country in multiple key indicators such as the number of unicorn enterprises, the total number of listed companies, invention patents, the number of drug clinical trials and the total number of CDE drug acceptances, and is full of confidence and expectation for the development of China's cell and gene industry and its demonstration of leading competitiveness on the international stage.

This exchange deepened mutual understanding between the two sides.
